Grade R

Grade R forms the foundation of your child’s further education. In addition to the curriculum, we aim to ensure that children feel safe, are happy, and develop abilities that will aid them as they grow. The syllabus for the year focuses on math’s, literacy and life skills.

Our daily schedule includes fun, well planned activities to improve their skills and readiness for formal schooling. 

The curriculum is focused on developing the following:

• Literacy skills
• Numeracy skills
• Social-emotional skills
• Cognitive development
• Age appropriate progression monitoring
• Emphasis on perceptual skills
• To enhance the development of fine motor skills
• Learning through play and 3-dimensional activities

During the year we have some fun day events planned for our Grade R’s, these include:

• Action attraction fun day
• National book character day – Learners dress up
• Valentines and Spring picnics
• Concerts
• Grade R graduation
